Product Empties – January 2017

I have been meaning to make this post for quite a while as I have had many products that I have finished up just lounging around in my room. So, today I will review them and finally throw them out (my desk is becoming a mess!). I will rate them on a scale of 1 to 5 stars (1 being the worst and 5 being the best rating).

Eucerin Calming Daily Moisturizing Crème: This is one of my Winter staples because it ensures hydration and moisture to dry, cracked skin. One of the places I love to apply this cream is on my lips – I use it instead of chap stick because it is so effective. I recommend it for those who like me have sensitive skin as it is Fragrance-free and dermatologist recommended. For those of you who suffer from eczema, there is a line of Eucerin creams that is specialized for your skin. 5 stars

Marcelle Moisture Cream (75 mL): This is another of my skin care staples, however I use this cream in my daily routine year-round. I normally apply it as my moisturizer after I have cleansed my skin. This is a great product if you have sensitive skin because it is perfume free, hypo-allergenic, and paraben free. 5 stars

Clinique Acne Solutions Clinical – clearing gel (15 mL): I am prone to having bad acne breakouts especially when I get my period. Using this clearing gel on my acne spots works really well for me as it usually gets rid of it within the next day or so. This product is on the more expensive side, but it is worth it when you have a breakout. It contains Salicylic Acid which is one of the ingredients that works effectively in clearing acne. 5 stars

Rimmel London Match Perfection 2-in-1 concealer & highlighter (fair/light): This product has been my go-to concealer over the years. I have never tried anything else as this one seems to work really well with my skin tone and with hiding any spots. I have 3 empties on hand today (and that’s because I have already gotten rid of others), just to show you how dedicated I am to this product. The only thing that I wish is that they would increase the amount of concealer from 7 mL to 10 mL or more. I tend to buy a new one every 1-2 months as I use it almost everyday. 4.5 stars

Marcelle Hydra-C Radiance Perfect Fusion Foundation (ivory): I have kept this empty for about a year, if not more. The reason being is that I loved this product so much and was so content with the results that I did not want to let it go when I found out it had been discontinued. However, I have tested the replacement for this product in the same brand and I love it as well. As for this product I especially loved its full coverage and how it matched my skin tone perfectly. 5 stars

Rimmel London Volume Colourist Mascara (black): This mascara was given to me as a gift last summer and I have still been using it consistently. I know that it is almost time to throw it away but I will use it until the last drop! I love the big brush shape of the wand because it provided fuller-looking lashes. Also, 99% of the time this product did not clump when applied to my lashes. 4.5 stars

Rimmel London Fix & Perfect Pro Primer: This is one of the primers that has received a lot of praise on the internet – which is why I tried it out. I wanted to see if it lived up to its hype and the answer is…yes! It goes on as a cream which is what I am used to using when I prime my face. I loved how it would leave my face brighter and smoother, ready for makeup application. Also, I do believe that it kept my makeup in place for most of the day. 4.5 stars

Revlon Dramatic Definition Waterproof Mascara (blackest black): As you can see I love trying out various mascaras. I bought this one last summer and I wanted to try it out because I was curious about the brush as it was very defined. When I tested it, I was satisfied because it gave my lashes a natural look because the brush defined each of my lashes. My lashes looked long but they also looked natural, which is something that I look for in a mascara. Also, in terms of the waterproof formula it was very effective since it would rarely smudge when I cried and to take it off I would spend a few minutes on each eye. 4.5 stars

Tarte MultiplEYE Liquid Eyeliner: This is another of my product empties that has stuck around in my makeup bag for about 3 years, maybe longer. Overall, I liked this product because I love Tarte, period. In terms of this particular eyeliner, the application is made easy with its pen-like tool. However, at times I would find that the formula would dry up while applying it and this would make it hard for me to fix any errors. Even if this was not one of my favorites, I am open to trying more of Tarte’s eyeliners because I love the brand and the fact that it is cruelty-free as well as eco-friendly. 3.5 stars

Buxom Sculpted Lash Mascara (true black): Being the mascara fan that I am, a few years ago I sought out to find a new brand to test. So I asked one of my colleagues (who had really beautiful, natural-looking lashes) which brand of mascara they used. She told me about this product and after I went to Sephora to see it, I was a bit skeptical. This was due to the brush – it had this curvy shape which scared me a bit because I had never used a brush that resembled it in the past. However, I bought it thinking ‘nothing ventured, nothing gaines’ and it really surprised me! I loved how the shape of the brush really defined my lashes and created a full yet natural look. I got lots of compliments from people – some even asked if I had fake lashes on! This one is a splurge, but I recommend it for those who want lashes that look full yet natural. 5 stars

This was my first time blogging about my product empties, so let me know if you liked it. Hope this post helps you to discover new products!
